About Me
Hello. My name is Kim Alexander. I am the owner and operator of The After School Artist - an after school art enrichment program. I have been operating after school enrichment programs for over eight years. I have two children of my own, Casey, age 10 & Taylor, age 7. I owned a paint your own pottery studio for 6 years and love to work with children. We promise to nurture your child as if he or she was our own.

My Philosophy
I believe that all children are artistic and that there is an artist in every child. I believe that all children learn differently. We provide the children a hands-on learning experience that isn't always expanded on in the school art classes due to time and financial restraints. Children need an environment that supports free expression and stimulates learning. Art is often overlooked and usually the first program to be cut out of our schools.

At The After School Artist, we recognize that you have a difficult schedule and support parents the best we can by offering our workshops on-site at your school, right after school. This eliminates the need to pick them up, drop them off somewhere and then picking them back up again....who has all that extra time?

Why us?
We offer a very unique one of a kind program that is offered once a week directly after school, right at your school. We also know that parents choose the programs that bring true educational enrichment to your children. This is a great way for your children to be exposed to the ceramic process learning new techniques and having fun.

Our top quality workshops teach various pottery painting techniques and hand building with clay. We instruct the use of stamps, stencils, sponges, tracing and also techniques unique to working with underglazes. Students complete one masterpiece each week.

Our experienced staff provides all the materials and instruction to help the students explore their creativity. We set-up and clean-up. All our paints are non-toxic, water based and do not stain clothing.
